Faith-Fueled Fitness

Exploring a Godly, healthy lifestyle!

Join your parish nurses in a faith-filled initiative that explores the connection between Body, Mind, and Spirit…and Faith. Here are some ways that the mind, body, and spirit are connected to fitness:

  • Body: Holistic fitness includes a variety of exercises, such as strength-training and yoga, to promote physical well-being.
  • Mind: A positive mindset can help with motivation, resilience, and optimism. Your thoughts, feelings, beliefs, and attitudes can affect your body’s health.
  • Spirit: Practices like mindfulness, prayer, and meditation can promote a sense of calm and balance. Some say that working out can be a spiritual practice that releases emotions and energy and activates energy centers.

Throughout 2025, we’ll introduce our congregation and community to inspirational thought leaders and teachers who share their best practices for greater health.

Why Faith-Fueled Fitness? Just as we worship God through our religious practices, wholistic fitness can increase faith. We show gratitude to God for our health and our bodies, which regularly overcome the physical restraints in our lives. In the same way, our minds overcome many of life’s obstacles. Just as we exercise our bodies and minds, we exercise our faith through practice and devotion. The connection between these three is how we can honor God.
